I am a Colombian biologist and microbiologist with expertise in the ecology of vector-borne diseases. I hold a Master’s degree in Entomology from the University of Florida, where I conducted research at the Florida Medical Entomology Laboratory examining mosquito biting behavior and dengue transmission dynamics. My broader background includes the ecology and taxonomy of a range of disease vectors, including those responsible for Chagas disease, leishmaniasis, and dengue.

Driven by the belief that effective control of vector-borne diseases requires interdisciplinary solutions, I am currently based at Texas A&M University. My research focuses on neglected tropical diseases in the United States, where I aim to integrate entomological, veterinary, and environmental data to advance a One Health approach to risk assessment and disease prevention.
